Just had the first few tumbling toms that have ripened. Really sweet and tasty but the skins are quite tough.
I suppose that’s a consequence of the heat. They’re in a really sunny spot and have been a bit on the dry side in the hanging bags.
Still pretty pleased with the outcome of the hanging bag tomatoes. There’s loads of tomatoes on them.
I’ll definietly do them again next year with tumbling toms. But fewer plants per bag, mix in more moisture retaining material to the compost, and maybe a slightly cooler spot. Would recommend them others if you’ve got a nice sunny fence to hang them on.
