Hi All,

This looks a little like bind weed flower but more upright and different colour.  Next to the cosmos.

Yes a petunia. "I'm a lonely little petunia in a an onion plot and all I do is cry all day."
If anyone else is old enough to remember that ditty. Oh it was 1940s that was even a bit too early for me.

B&Q have or had some really beautifully veined petunias in very vibrant colours  and use them as bedding plants. I think petunias have been improved by careful breeding to make them stonger and weather proof. I am a great fan now.

My granny used to sing that to me. I never got around  to asking what a petunia was and I wasn't absolutely sure what an onion patch was either.

    In London. Keen but lazy.

Are you sure it's that old?  I remember hearing, I think, Dora Bryan singing it, and I was born in 1952.
