Olive tree dying?

Ryan180680Ryan180680 Posts: 202
My olive tree has started developing yellow leaves. My friend looked after our house whilst we were away for 2 weeks and I'm not sure if it's been watered enough? Any thoughts?

Looks fine to me too, mine always do that but doesn’t seem to do any harm. Less so of late because the UK has been nicking all our good weather.

Another vote for  - it looks fine to me
Mine is smothered in flower buds and has also developed a few yellow leaves that are falling - happens every year around this time

Phew. We spent quite a lot of money on this tree last year so good to hear. There are quite a lot of olives on it too so will they develop in the UK?

I've had a few develop - but there's not a lot I could think of doing with 3 olives :)
I had neglected my tree for many years. Only when I read a post on here last year I started to feed it and this year it looks very healthy indeed and masses of buds - so maybe I'll need to invest in a press later this year :)
I know others have had a reasonable crop

Just out of curiosity what did you feed it with?

Funnily enough - I was just wondering the same thing :)
I'll try and find the old post

Can't find the post - the member has prob left the site. He grew many olive trees.
I would imagine it would be a tomato fertilizer (eg Tomorite). But I'm sure he said just to use it every 2-3 weeks from spring to July. No later as you don't want tender growth emerging as we head toward winter.
I've not given mine anything yet - so I can remedy that right now!

I'm sure there are many other olive grows here who can advise too
