    I've heard peppermint oil helps (lots of info online).. so maybe growing some peppermint on the windowsill that you brush against.

    Pansy, what are you suggesting? Love bites I can live with. Should I take my arachnid nibbles on my ankles as a sign of affection? :D

    Are you sure they're spider bites, Fire?  Lots of insects love biting ankles...
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    They had the distinctive double puncture mark, like a vampire, as below.

    Maybe there are other insects with fangs.

    Now we find the real reason you were flogging a soiled mattress to some poor unsuspecting punter. Bedbugs!

    Lol. That bite in the pic (not mine, btw) is not bedbugs. The double puncture is v distinctive. At it wasn't 'soiled' before I started messing around with it.
