I hang my feeders in the Holly tree in the front garden. Small birds can access the feeders without any problem but the spiky leaves deter the big birds... You just need a Holly tree!
I used to hang a feeder in the pyracantha which the bigger birds didn't like. I had to be careful refilling though I made this to keep the starlings out.... as you can see - it deters other greedy bu**ers too It allows all the little birds in, and even the ground feeders quickly learned to perch. It's made from the mesh shelves from one of those plastic growhouses.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Things "on trend" usually make me want to spin on my heel and go the other way. I've had my cages a few years. I prefer to think I helped set the tone. Chelsea were obviously inspired!
Me too, I gave up with 'trendy' some forty odd years ago! But to be a trendsetter can be a blessing and a curse, you like something you see at a reasonable price, a few months later it is ridiculously expensive! I certainly didn't mean to offend

Thank you, she is very creative my daughter and all the table decorations have been recycled as planters ( see you are a trendsetter ) bird feeders and garden lights - bit into outdoor entertaining they are.......

This maybe getting a bit old but it seems to work. Bought from a garden centre, it allows collered doves in but others seem put off by the swinging so little birds get it all to themselves. What I don't understand is if there is a choice of mixed seed and sunflower hearts the hearts are always left till the next day.
