Smashing pictures. Haven't been to Wisley for years, it's just a bit too far for a comfortable day trip unfortunately, but your pics make me want to go again. Re astrantia and slugs, mine don't get eaten - are yours very small plants?
Oh do try and schedule a little mini break and have a whole day at Wisley if you can. It takes an entire day to get around! Do you have some nice gardens near you?
Thankfully my Anstrantia are fine and the pesky slugs haven't touched them... they've been too busy chowing down on my hydrangea Raging!
Thanks for sharing! Wisley used to be my 'local' gardens.. your images are nostalgia inducing. I've never had the pleasure of viewing sans pushchair though.. so I'm a bit envious you had the day there child-free. Bitter sweet, I know, but I'm happy for you that you found it a pleasant distraction.

Well it was nice walking around without having to make sure my mini person didn't run off and end up in the pond but she's such a lover of wiodlife and nature so I felt a bit guilty as there were so many little creatures about that she'd have loved but i'm sure ice crrams on tge beach today will be just as fun ha ha
I hope you have a new lovely local gardens to visit now
Been to all of them, though only Kew in the last few years. All wonderful. Dixter is my favourite, I think, but it was about 16 years ago. Sissinghurst 20 years. Good grief, time flies.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Judging by those photos, Wisley must be a magical land with rainbows and fairies and pixie dust and laughter and joy. A land where no pests and diseases blight the floriferous, fecund flora and plants rise proud and pretty from pots and ponds.
Certainly not a place where snails creep and skulk and sneak and eat basil seedlings over night :-/
I must go and see this arcane magic that is Wisley gardens.
