Spotty Leaves

Hi guys,

I received my geum "totally tangerine" plant very well packaged today but am concerned about the foliage. Can anybody identify what it is and if it is serious please? I hope not!

Thank you

I don't know, but I would ask myself the question: 'Would I pay the full price for that in a shop?'

Too late for that I'm afraid but of course I agree. I emailed them sending same pic along with the salvia which half leaves have been eaten and I haven't heard back. And waited about 5 weeks for them to come. Oh well.  Expected bit more from Suttons though

I don't think that's anything to worry about - they just look like old leaves which need removing. Probably should have been removed before sending though.
Worth contacting the company with the photos.
I'm assuming they weren't sitting around over a weekend in a courier's warehouse or something though?

I'm with Fairy ... the rest of the leaves look healthy ... I would've removed them before  packing and shipping to guard against any decay setting in.  As she says, a photo to Suttons with an expression of disappointment wouldn't go amiss.

Let the company know so they can have words with their courier if there is a problem or with their packing staff about removing tatty foliage before packing - whichever is the case.

The mail order people I use here let me know when stuff has been packed and passed to the courier and then when it's left them and is on its way - max 36 hours between them sending and plants arriving - so far.

  • I am more disappointed that I did exactly what you all suggested and they didn't get back to me. I actually got them yesterday and emailed them then so thought I would hear back today but haven't. But on the up side, hopefully it will be a case of a couple of leaves that need coming off and planting as you say dove the rest of plant does look healthy so many thanks for input to all of you.  Appreciated.
