Any idea what tree this is?

    The large one looks remarkably like Salix caprea to me ... I'd be taking that out PDQ.

    Salix caprea aka goat willow pops up in gardens all over the place because its seeds float in the air like thistledown ... however it grows very rapidly into a huge tree.   It's quite good for wildlife if you have a large garden (I mean several acres with hedges, woodland etc) but it's not a tree for a 'normal sized' garden.

  • Excellent, thanks for the advice. Our garden is pretty small, so that doesn't sound good! :-)
