Could this be thuja blight?

I planted 32 thuja plicata atrovirens conifer last November into well prepared soil. They arrived on a pallet very close together but were planted same day. They did not look very healthy. In May I noticed what can be seen in the photos in places on every plant! I emailed the nursery with the photos and am being told they look fine. Can anyone tell me what it could be and if treatable easily. In the second picture I am holding a piece of conifer from another hedge to compare.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry you have not had a response yet but if you look at the thread "RE. Fir trees dying" you may find your answer there. The photos look very similar. If not I am sure there will be someone who can help. Good Luck.  :)

  • Thanks for the replys. I have just looked at the RHS site and their picture of thuja blight looks idential to my conifers. I will probably have to use something on them but I try to garden without using sprays. I think I will send some samples to the RHS as I am a member and see what they say. I am begining to think I have been sold something already infected.
  • Just a quick update my hedge does have thuja blight, the samples I sent to the RHS confirmed this. I have to say they were extremely helpful. Unfortunately there is no cure at the moment so think I will take them out as plants are still fairly small.
