Storm Hector

Gales and winds up to 70mph expected later this morning. An amber warning for N Iron and yellow for parts of Scotland and N England.

    Not as bad as expected, we are quite central here might miss it.  Place just looks a mess with leaves and branches but all pots etc still standing

    Not windy here, that makes a change, drop of rain through the night that’s actually done more harm than good as the plants that we’re making nice deep roots to find the moisture will now come to the surface looking for it. 
    Hoping for a proper downfall but don’t think so.

    Oh deary me! Looks like we got it all then.
    Branches down, trees down (roads closed), lupins down....and I mean down! My beautiful yellow lupin now has arms at all points of the compass. The pink is hammered too and the purple slightly less so but not great! 
    Trashed!
    Not too much rain though. Just the normal showers for here.
    I'm going to wait till it shuts up out there and then go and retrieve my worldly goods from under the trees at t'other end!
