Very Large conifer turning brown

Guys please see see attached picture of conifer tree last year compared to this year, is it too late to try and revive it, is it dead? These conifers must be around 100 years old +. Last year as you can see very green but definitely not quite right this year. Any help appreciated.

Have you had much rain in your area?

No less than normal, I would have thought that after being this established even if there were a dry spell it shouldn’t effect the tree too much. I am no expert though 🤔

We had one almost the same, plenty of water deep down,   but some are short lived, ours, after 30 years started going brown, then this happened!  We had to get professionals in as it was so tall,  the others around it are also destined for the same. I was quite upset as my dad grew them from seeds, and although I don’t like conifers much, they did look nice up at the top of the garden.

I would advise you to have it taken out as as soon as possible, it’s only going one way, and that’s down.   Some strong winds and it will split.

I think Lyn is right, it's coming to the end of its life.
