    Hi Jayshree :)

Most evergreens are brown inside ... that's just the way they are .. it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them.  If  you trim the branches be very careful not to cut back into the brown area as it will not grow green shoots from the brown branches.

As for the clematis ... can you post a photo for us so we can try to find out what type it is... some flower at different times of the year.

  • Thank you I will cut the branches carefully. I will take picture of the clematis and send. It did not flower last year either we cut it back.

Some clematis flower on old wood made the previous year or years.  Cutting back thus removes the stems that might have flowered.   Leave it alone now until it does flower which may take another 12 months depending on variety but give it a good feed of specialist clematis food, a good drink and tie in new shoots to the support as they appear.

Once it does flower again it can be identified and then we can tell you the correct pruning regime.

  • Thank you will do. This all new to me I am learning as I go. Love it.

We're all learning ... some are further along the path than others ... but once we stop learning we might as well give up  :)
