Just a thought, when you put pots inside pots, how do you get the inner one back out when you want to change them? Hope you can understand what I mean.
I'm the same as B'cupdays, Pauline. The strap handles is a good idea if it's a tight fit though Apologies Harry - I didn't see your question about the tulips. The ones you have are 'standard' tulips which will flowerwell the first year, and then diminish a bit over following years. Just the nature of them. The species ones are generally smaller, and earlier, and will grow each year and multiply. They tend to be bright orangey/yellows, but there are other colours. Really good for a bright, cheery start to the season I have one called Fusilier which is quite tall - around the same as most of the later types. Gives a real buzz in early spring
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
What about the smaller planet bulbs that have formed on the originals? I saved all I could find and now have quite a few.
Worth growing the smaller ones somewhere out of sight until they're mature enough to flower?
Regarding getting the pots out, the glazed pots actually have 3 large drainage holes which I'll be able to poke through with something to get the plastic ones out. They're actually a good fit in the pots although a good bit shallower.
