Following my leader, my leader...

please tell me how do I know which stem is the leader on my sweet million tomato plant? I start off with a main stem but then two seem to blend into one  :s

Sometimes they do 'bifurcate' ... split into two .... just choose whichever one looks the stronger or is on the more convenient side of the plant, and remove the other one.  :)

  •  Thank you - it all sounds very technical - bifurcate - I’ll remember that. I find it hard to discard shoots - even all my seedlings get potted up - I hate throwing the weak ones away :DAnyway here is a pic from the top - just to make sure.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound technical ... it's just that I like words in general and I especially like words that mean exactly what I want to say ... bifurcate = divide into two branches or forks.

Looking at that pic I'd keep the shoot on the left and remove the one on the right ... you might be able to root it.

    Good luck!
