  You need to raise the height of the netting ... but keep it over your veg ... top and sides ... your brassicas are vulnerable to cabbage white butterflies in the summer, then pigeons in the winter 
  
  And keep the netting well clear of the leaves, or the butterflies will perch on the netting and lay their eggs through the netting onto the leaves.
