Bay trees close to house

phill4phill4 Posts: 23
hi everyone. I decided to transplant 2 bay trees from pots into the ground. After reading some information online about bay trees I’m now concerned that they will grow too big and cause problems to the house. Does anyone have any experience with this?

That's too close. I'd move it at least to the edge of the grass.
You can prune to to whatever shape and height you want as it grows.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Watch out for suckers from the base ... otherwise I agree with Freddie's Dad.  :)

When we took on this garden a previous owner had planted out a former lollipop bay tree ... it had rampaged and become huge so keep an eye on yours!!!

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
