Of course he's right. It's often just not practical to have running water where the plants are on display, and the process of instore watering would be very hit and miss anyway. I've always thought Homebase will go to the wall before B&Q.
Just the opposite where I live. B&Q plants not watered and Homebase plants looked after really well. I guess it's all down to individual stores and their managers.
Imo, BQ staff seem relutant to water plants on a regular basis. They always miss the plants at the back of the racks and within days these plants are on the reduced racks because of neglect. No very good for business to loose plants that way I agree, there are som great bargains but you have to check every plant to ensure their condition
My socal B & Q are shocking, the plants arent watered, have to admit sometimes Aldi are as bad and Homebase, but bought 6 petunias for a couple of quid in Aldi last week, they had just been watered!
Aldi,Lidl and Morrison's don't seem to allocate a member of staff to do the watering, otherwise the plants wouldn't be sat outside dying or dead. Such a waste.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
That's right Pauline that's what I was told. I have complained to their head offices with no response. If they can't do it with the public about its a shame they don't pay some one extra to come in early to do it before the store officially opens
I bought a succulent from B&Q today (Haworthia limifolia), I did the usual thing with succulents and as soon as I got home I repotted it into a more suitable pot with better soil. No tea bag on this one but the compost was actually very nice stuff and all the indoor plants there looked very well cared for.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
