What is this anyone please?

I used garden cosmos seeds last year (clearly not those) and cant remember what the china asters leaves looked like. Also various types of poppy. Dont want to pull out pretty things but need to know if they are weeds. Already got caught out with purple dead nettles smothering my pansies n blissfully unaware planted them out lol. (Now removed and replaced with my surviving few pansies hiding underneath). Novice needing help please ☹️

  • They are not just in this pot but in the bed with my snap dragons and cosmos.

They look like icelandic  poppy seedlings.

They resemble (shirley?) poppy seeds, certainly not China asters (I have them sprouting everywhere!).

Those look like poppy seedlings, one of the annual types.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    or shirley poppies. Definitely poppies.
  • That’s awesome folks thank you, I did think some type of poppy (not as garden stupid as I thought) so I’m happy, will thin them out a bit and go with them. Just didn’t want a repeat of my purple dead weed lol. Thanks again for your help 😃

Don't forget poppies are a bit finicky about moving, maybe you should do it soon...
  • And must add I did actually manage to grow this beautiful peony rose that’s my new pic in terrible ground, in the highlands despite my beloved Scottie dogs knocking it off it’s supports every time a trailer or tractor went by the house lol.
  • I know, thank you Dimwit (wish you were called something else lol) I’ve tried moving poppies before, they don’t like it much. Got some lovely purple ones seeded from my mum, cabbage leaf type that hated being moved, most survived n getting on okay.
