  I think you'd expect creeping buttercup - yes, the sort that stays close to the ground.  Taller sorts would get too tall and have their flowers mowed off.

  Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

  Yes I agree with Liriodendron......Ranunculus repens...creeping buttercup.
