What is this?

Hello everyone, I just made the mistake of looking underneath the leaves on my camellia...  Does anyone know what this is :
They're completely flat not like a worm or anything.  I don't think they're woolly aphids as they're one long, completely flat, strip of white with a sort of fluffy brown end.  I'm not sure they're even animals, maybe they're something else??  Any ideas? Many thanks.

They look like cushion scale, a sap sucking pest.

Never heard of that one Ladybird, I shall google it right now.  They're a bit sticky, does that sound right?

I agree, the picture on the RHS website seems very similar.  Thanks Ladybird.

Yuk.  I have just wiped as many as I can see off with washing up liquid.  I have never felt so itchy in my life.
