Pruning apples

JoeXJoeX Posts: 1,783
hi,

Ive heard that cutting back the number of apples budding will improve the crop.

Any tips for these?  One tree has only one apple growing, the other has dozens...!

Cheers,

TP

Mine do a self thinning in the early summer, then I thin out to one fruit per group in the mid summer.

Wait for the June drop to happen when the tree will drop surplus fruit then thin to one apple per cluster. That will give you bigger better fruit.
