Slow release fertiliser, how much do I use?

Hi
I got some slow release fertiliser from one of those pound shops but there are no instructions on how much to use. I can imagine being cheap the pellets aren’t very strong.
So how much should I add to a 5 litre planter or a hanging basket with marigolds, petunias etc?
