Getting rid of weeds to then seed lawn

Please can anyone advise as to what I can use to get rid of all these weeds? I'm then wanting to seed it . I've looked at goodgrow pump and spray online, have any of you used this? I do have a dog and child and would like to do it with consideration to the environment. Many thanks to you all 😀

Is that bare soil or rock chips?  I suggest hand pulling the larger plants, and if it's soil giving it a hoe over.  See what comes back up after that, and we can help identify and suggest ways of removal.  Plan on greatly improving the soil, and holding off on grass seeding until the fall.

Thank you for your reply 😀 it is soil but even with a pick axe they're a nightmare to get up. It was removed last year by hand but we ran out of Sun to continue and now they are all back but worse .

Do the same again, but this time get the soil all prepped for seeding.  Bring in piles of well rotted manure, keep the soil moist by watering it, and dig or till it together.  Cover the area in layer cardboard mulched with more manure, to keep the weeds out.  Pull up the cardboard in late summer and prepare the soil for seeding.  Alternatively, just mow the weeds now and deal with it at the end of summer.
