Burnt leaves or just thirsty? Can I save it?

Hi there,

I'm brand new to gardening, and have just invested in a few leafy plants for my patio. As you can see in the photos my new Acer has some crispy dried up leaves, as well as some new growth. What should I do to save it? Is it as simple as just needing more water? Any advice on general care for this type of plant will be very welcome. Thanks for your help lovely gardeners :)

Too much sun. Acers prefer a semi shaded site, where they do not get the full sun in the middle of the day. It will need to be kept damp at all times.
  • Thank you fidgetbones, should I cut the dead leaves off or might this cause further damage?

Just leave them on if there is any non crispy parts.. but if the entire leaf is dead, you can remove it.  Make sure it's not too windy where you have it located too.

  • Thanks Blue Onion and Freddies Dad. I'll take that on board and see if I can find a shadier spot.
