Dog Rose

Hi everyone,
What is be the best way to propagate a dog rose? Can I take some softwood cuttings? Thanks in advance!

They grow easily from seed but it's usually recommended to use the same method as other roses - take 20cm long, pencil-thick, hardwood cutting in autumn.  However, if you want quicker results it might be worth layering a branch.  I don't think the rose family do well from softwood cuttings though.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
