Moz Banana Plant

I thought I had lost my banana plant in the bad whether Jan/Feb but now new shout are sprouting though. The main plant I did lose but I am left with what seems like the dead roots. They are between 6 & 8inches across & are round. I would like to get these out of the ground so I can plant something else in their place but I don't how to go about this. Can someone Please Please help me

    If a new shoot has come up from the rootstock, that will form a new plant.
    If you want it out of the ground, you will need a very strong spade or pickaxe.

    Thank you, I don't have a strong spade or pickaxe, so I will have to put up with these unsightly rings which seem to be dead roots.
