ID this insect please.

Found quite a few of these insects sitting on my plants. Some of the leaves have been devoured and wondering if these are the culprits.

    A ladybird larva. Not the culprit! They feed on aphids.

    Thanks guys. Just googled and found they are really good for getting rid of aphids. I’ll leave them well alone. 

    Looks very pretty too!  :)

    Yeah, they're a gardeners best friend. :)  To identify the actual culprits, go out with a torch at night and you'll probably find they are the usual slugs or snails.  If the leaves in your photo are magnolia, almost certainly snails.  
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Thanks Bob will have to try that. Fed up of my plants getting chewed to an inch of their life lol  :D:D
