Lots of top on potato plants

My 1st early potato plants in pots have very tall stems and masses of leaves and I am concerned that the crop will suffer. I planted them in multi purpose compost and have not added any fertiliser nor fed them, just watered them regularly. Any advice please?

Have they got plenty of light?  Most plants will grow long and lanky if they're shaded.

Yes they have plenty of light. I’ve never seen potatoes this high in my life!

Mine are very tall too, Maris Peer and Nicola which are both second earlies.

You can add another 6 inches to the overall height of these, they have gone crazy in the last week, and I only feed them every fortnight.

I just wonder if it’s the high humidity this year. I have not fed mine at all because over feeding can cause all top and no potatoes.
