James Grieve failing to fruit

We have had this apple tree for about 20 years and it has always been very prolific. This year, however, it had very few blossom and now no fruit. It does sem to have an abundance of foliage. Does anyone have any suggestions, pease?

We had awful weather at blossom time ... The Beast from the East etc etc etc ... maybe that and a consequent lack of pollinators affected the blossom setting.

We have had amazing blossom this year. Isn’t it weird how different it is from one part of the country to the other?!

Perhaps we should move it north?

Bad frosts and bad weather here too, much further south, so very little blossom on the fruit cherries, plums and apples we inherited and no pollinators about so just a handful of fruit at the most on each tree.  It won't do the tree any harm to have a rest form fruit production for a year.
