Shrub I D help please

Morning! Anyone help with this shrub please? It is about 8 feet tall and almost as wide. I’ve discovered it’s split wide open in the middle, possibly damaged by the snows earlier in the year. Parts appear healthy, but until I know what it is I’m not sure if I can restore it it if I have to give up. Any help appreciated.

    Looks like a Hebe.  There are so many of them, I couldn’t say which one though.

    Hebe salicifolia. Not sure if you can fix the problem.

    I used to have one but I got rid of it because it was very wide-spreading but only flowered for a short time each year, so I put several other plants in its place.

    Yes, I was thinking taking it out would give me space for other things!
