Help on Apple Trees please

Hi,

Newbie here, with little experience of gardening, so please be super helpful!

Three years ago we planted two 2year old Apple Trees, 1 Red Falstaff and 1 Red Windsor. They've not done much until this year, when we've had lots of blossom, and now quite a lot of fruit forming.

However looked at them tonight, and have 2 different problems going on.

1) One tree has lots of little webs across quite a few leaves and hundreds of little black dots (eggs?) in the webs.  I've removed all the ones I can find, but there's still a few ants running over the leaves and stems as well.

2) The other tree has lots of leaves with signs of brown and curling.

So, what am I to do please fruit experts!

Thanks

James

Pansyface is right - don't panic!  Those leaves look basically pretty healthy.  You'll always get the odd insect landing for a free lunch, but the predators will arrive and sort them out if you let them.  It's rare to need to do anything other than what you've already done, ie physically remove some of the problem.

The second tree has been touched by a late frost, I think, just as those browned leaves were unfurling.  The same thing happened to my plum tree this year.   :)

Don't forget to keep the trees well watered, and be prepared to thin out the fruit so it doesn't put too much strain on your young trees.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Sound advice from Pansyface, all I would add is suggest that you control the number of fruit you allow to develop. Wait until the June drop (which often happens in July) then aim to have fewer, larger, well spaced fruit. Your trees are still young and will develop better if you don't stress them too soon.
