Hi folks, just looking to ID this tree before I go ahead and use it in my cooking. Many thanks if you can help!

Looks like Picea abies...Norway spruce...usually used at Christmas as a Christmas tree.
Not a clue why you might consider cooking/eating it?

Excellent. That's what I thought, just want to confirm it isn't yew (poisonous i believe).

Taxus baccata...Yew..... looks very different.
Yes ....very poisonous...all except the red fruit like seed capsule.
Seed inside also poisonous

Having said that they collect the trimmings/branches and convert it into a drug to help in the fight against cancer.
