Rose ID

On holiday in Dumfries and Galloway a few years ago, I spotted this rose growing in the hedgerow. I broke a piece off, brought it home and rooted it. It is now a sizeable shrub, golf ball sized double flowers, not much scent, any ideas what it is ?

    If it was growing in a hedge, do you think it had grown from a seed or was planted there?
