Stinkhorn

Knew there was one about for a few weeks by the smell but this fine fellow arrived in the corner of a raised veg bed today. Should I be worried that it will taint any veg? Most likely going to be some Kale in that corner

  • The flies do like it yes.  They are said to be edible, not sure I fancy it though.

I think you only eat them in the "egg" stage, still they are full of jelly then, not too appetising to me! It won't taint anything, you could always pull it out if the smell is getting to you.
  • Will leave it be, it is biodiversity? Cant help thinking there is another one brewing though as the smell as moved!
