Rogue Plant Any Ideas?

GlenjjonesGlenjjones Posts: 146

I bought some purple sprouting broccoli plugs and duly planted them. I now have a row of broccoli but with 1 plant that looks very different. Can anyone ID my rogue plant please?

Any and all ideas welcome.

Hi Liriodendron, Thanks again. I only tried on this discussion board, as I wasn't getting any other suggestions on the fruit and veg boards. the more I research it the more I am tending to agree with your assessment. Any idea how this might have gotten into the plug from the nursery? I assume the seeds are easy to mistake for broccoli or other brassicas?

Thank Obelixx. though a weed would it be edible? only wondering if its worth leaving in or should I just dig it out now?

I'd just hoik it out and add it to the compost heap before it sets seed ... occasionally a rogue seed gets into a pack of seed ... one of those hings, especially with brassicas as the seeds are so small and look very similar.
