Dicentra macrantha
Has anyone on the forum tried growing this ?
One of the yellow-flowered species described as a 'difficult woodland plant' ; I always enjoy a challenge ; this one seems almost ethereal in its fragility . (Its yellow cousin , D.scandens , seems easy by comparison) .
Its rhizomatous root system is unusually susceptible to breaking up at the slightest disturbance . It fell into four pieces even with very judicious removal from the container it was growing in . That didn't bode well at the time !!
One of many goodies I bought at an NGS plant fair last Sunday . Now the problem of finding suitable sites for them all .
All comments appreciated !

Never knew it was difficult.
I love the leaves and large flowers.
Your growing conditions sounded idyllic ; mine is going into a free-draining slightly acidic soil into dappled shade near the Dicksonia .
Nice and damp !
