Daffodil bed full of weeds

daffs leaves are yellowing up nicely, prob give it another month, can I weed kill the weeds on the bed, once all trace of daffodils leaves have been rounded up.
yes I can do the weeding by hand, but I am talking a big area.
what should I use, the weeds are the dock, buttercup, dandelion variety ie all have long roots, can I just paint the weed killer whatever is recommended
