I planted 5 fruit trees walnut and Kent Cob at beginning of the season all but the apple tree has leaves but the bark still green when scratch it with nail. Does anyone have any idea why it hasn’t shooted. My neighbour said it’s because we have an large oak tree in garden affects apples ? And walnut has shooted from base of trunk ?anyone help ?

I have an Early Worcester apple tree growing on the edge of the drip line from a large oak(Quercus robur). Apart from leaning at an angle to get more light, it fruits heavily every year with minimal intervention.  So no, the oak doesn't affect apples. I also have five small apple trees of various varieties, planted between the two oaks, and they have fruited every year since they went in, so the huge leaf drop off of the oak doesn't affect them either.
If the bark is still showing green , there is hope yet. Give all newly planted trees at least a bucket of water a week through the first year after planting.
Is the walnut grafted? If so are the shoots coming from below the graft line. ?

That’s good to know the Oak canopy is no where near the Apple but it’s closest planted. I have been watering weekly💧No walnut tree doesn’t appear to be grafted I’ve taken some photos to help.  all trees brought from reparable producer
