Wisteria pruning
A friend has a wisteria that had 2 blooms this year. She wants me to cut the tendrils now as they are wrapping around the gutter. The books say cut 6 pairs of leaves away now & reduce to 2 at winter. She has always cut right down to the first nodule & it has flowered. Is this a good idea or stick to the books? Also should i wait until july or cut now?

Works for,me but I also remove any long whippy shoot as and when they get in the way so I reckon it's OK to remove the ones, round the gutter now.
