update on post ‘. is it worth waiting’ Last year I was worried about no perfume with rose City of York, I had seen it on peter Beales rose stand at Chelsea the year before. The smell there was exceptional, mine was without. Many advised to wait and advise from the grower was, give it time to mature. I have given it TLC all year and today the perfume is lovely. It was well worth the trouble to give it everything I could. Photo today. Val

Lovely Val. I hope it smells as good as it looks.  Worth the wait and the TLC.

Are the photos from inside a greenhouse?
  • Thanks for the supportive comments gardeners. My OH built a car port 3m x3 m 2.5 high as a cover to sit under. It’s open on three sides, next to the conservatory wall. Val
