Failing leaves - over watering?

Hi all, I am fairly new to gardening. My plants under leaves are wilting, going yellow and then dieing. A few spots on the leaves. They have only recently been planted and happening a little with other plants. Could I be overwatering?  The ground around the plant is darker than soil around it. I've included some pictures. Many thanks.

    Theyre perfect, just take the first leaves off, they usually go brown like that and drop off, I’m sure they’re fine.  Not good to over water, if you hold back on the water they will push roots right down in the soil where there’s natural moisture,  that will make a much stronger plant.
    The holes are slug damage, that’s up to you how you treat it.

    I agree with Lyn. .....nothing to worry about.   Avoid over watering as the roots stay near the top of the ground and become reliant on being watered.
