Hen Identification Help

Hello 

Can anyone help with identifying this breed of hen? It’s my allotment neighbours and we aren’t sure what type she is !

    Yes, they are a beautiful breed.
    The males have gorgeous 3ft long tails.
    This hen is a Golden Phoenix - they come in a wide variety of colours.
    We used to have some Black Breasted Red Phoenix.

    In all the time I bred chickens, ducks and geese, I never had any with ticks, they did get mites occasionally I used a powder that I got from the equine centre. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    I have never seen a tic on any of my birds, I suspect they are good at picking them off and eating them if/when they do pick them up.

    @Fire - I have heard of ticks on poultry, but only usually on sick birds.
    I have never personally had ticks on mine, only ever red mites.
    I know that in tropical countries domestic fowl can be prone to tick infestation - but then as we're not in the tropics, I guess that's largely irrelevant.  :wink:
