Clematis Leaves Blackened?

My lovely Niobe Clematis has suddenly developed black leaves. The pot is damp and no aphids etc in sight -Help! Any ideas what this is and what to do. Nowhere near other clematis in garden and they are thriving.

thanks Obelixx. My Blue Ice (or is it Ice Blue!) is in partial shade for most of the day. It gets a ring of manure a couple of times per year and slow release fertiliser pellets in the Spring.
