Geranium ID please

JimmyhJimmyh Posts: 15
Hello,
Last year I took some seeds from a friend's garden and germinated them this spring.
My friend thought they were a geranium and I think she's right.
However they don't look like hardy geraniums but neither do they look like your annual pelargoniums as the leaves aren't fleshy at all.
Does anyone have an idea what type they are please ?
Thanks in advance.

    That looks like Malva sylvestris ... the Common mallow ... or one of its relatives ... a cousin of Lavatera ... might be one of those ... @Nutcutlet will know for sure

    But I'm not sure which Mallow. I think the perennial Malva sylvestris wouldn't be in flower as such a small plant and it might be one of the annuals.
    Not a greanium though :)

    @nutcutlet   :)
    There's a lot of the annual mallows being included in wild flower mixes so they're turning up all over the place ... as you say probably one of those ... do they hybridise?

    Thanks for the ID
    It's definitely a Mallow of some form isn't it.
    My friend may well have shaken some wildflower seed around so maybe that's it.
    Anyway I rather like it so far as it was easy to germinate and is flowering in its first year. I'll see how it develops over the year. It was free so there's nothing to lose 😋
    Thanks.
