Identify the insect

can anyone tell me what the insect I have attached a photo of. You may need to enlarge, the insect is very small size of a tooth pick, bright blue, wings the length of its body, very much like a dragonfly but tiny. Many thanks

    That is the common blue damselfly. Always lovely to see them in the garden B)

    One of the  damselflies ... gorgeous little thing ... we get a lot of them, and the red ones, around here in Norfolk .... may be an Azure Damselfly but I can't see it clearly enough to ID properly ... lots of helpful info here

    That's a useful link. It could be an azure but the shoulder stripes looked thinner in the pic. Could be the angle though.
