From my experience, you need to be concerned about yourselves as much as your pets.
Even if you don't have pets, ticks can be brought into your garden by foxes and cats.
I think we should assume that yes - your garden has ticks.

Nollie, I hear tiger mozis can carry dengue fever. In Europe? Wow. I had dengue and it's a deeply unpleasant thing. Knocked out for months. Errk

I'm not sure I'd know a tick if I saw one. I keep being bitten but I don't know what's doing it. And this thread is making me paranoid. I don't generally do paranoia.

No need for paranoia LG.   Mozzies, midgies, horse flies etc bite and fly and leave you with an itchy bump depending on how sensitive you are.

Ticks bite and hang on and can cause illness - https://www.medicinenet.com/ticks/article.htm#tick_facts

I get bitten all the time by anything with an appetite. I'm very tasty.
I just watch out for the bullseye rash.
If you get it it's two weeks of strong no drinking alcohol antibiotics

Yip a couple of years ago when cutting back fearns in my garden one attached itself to me ! Had to keep it all day until my sister cam home (she had a removal tool) and she said it was the biggest one she'd ever seen ! I'm central Scotland. Dr wasnt concerned when i raised it with her as i didnt have the rash.

@Obelixx, I'm concerned that you're taking Bravecto.  The internet strongly suggests it's carcinogenic.  Animal medicines aren't tested on humans, but its active ingredient is in the same family as known carcinogens...

I'm not Liri.  The dogs get it but not all year.  Just from about Easter to the end of summer.  I shall talk to the vets about it when they go for their annual jabs next month.
