PS They do 'interbreed' and hybridise very readily in cultivation ; that one looks particularly nice .

If you visit a good garden centre you will find Aquilegia in all colours.

If you want a nice species red and yellow one look for Aquilegia canadensis.

Thanks,i was wondering if there are two types that would pollinate and make a colourful hybrids, and would i have to take pollen and brush the pistils to cross them or leave it to mother nature,ie,insects, wind, etc?

I've an aquilegia that looks just like that ... it's a great performer ... keep deadheading and it'll keep flowering all summer.
I think it's one of the American hybrids developed from Aquilegia caerulea.

Meant to say, they quite happily hybridize all by themselves and I leave them to get on with it.
