How to Remove

Anyone know what this is please? It keeps coming up all over the garden & is nigh on impossible to dig out. It’s like a creeping vine

    Creeping Cinquefoil (Potentilla reptans.)  Tricky to remove - RHS advice here:

    I have just spent the last half hour forking them out. They have a long tap root, you have to shift that, any broken bit and they will regrow.

    Arghh they’re everywhere.  Keep removing but may have to accept we’ll be forever removing them!

    I don't have that particular weed, but some with similar tendencies. On clay soil, it's usually too difficult to dig them out, so I pick or hoe off the leaves or shoots whenever I see them. Some give up -eventually.

    I prefer not to use chemicals, but some weeds with long tap roots are just too much effort. A squirt with Roundup and about 2-3 weeks later they're dead n gone

    Dandelion, dock, nettles, couch grass and many others. I have decided they are like herpes, you can never get rid of them, the best you can do is try not to pass them on to anyone else and manage the outbreaks. Every once in a while I have felt the satisfaction of tracing bindweed for several feet and getting a whole root, Yay.

    You are so right B3, sadly I can usually see all the wallpaper that needs stripping but bindweed and couch grass are devious and they hide  😣

    Ive been hoping if I keep picking off the leaves they’ll give up eventually 😬
