Poop on lawn

Last week and this week I've spotted poop on the lawn. Its not a cat. Cats don't do that, and certainly not that size, which looks to be a small dog size. I doubt its a fox, but then I'm not 100% sure if this is being done in the day. 

I was thinking of getting a cheap spycam to catch the perpetrator. Any recommendations?

    If you post a picture on here, chances are someone will be able to ID it for you. Based on your limited description, my money's on fox.

    There's a few good trail cameras for £50-60 now, Apeman or Crenova seem to be well thought of. Not much difference in the specs but make sure to get one with a good warranty. An adjustable ground spike makes it much easier to place them around the garden, I got mine from a place called Wildlife Watching Supplies. I've strapped mine to a garden fork stuck in the ground before though and that works fine a lot of the time. Have a think about what you will use it for though as only some cameras allow close up work and if you want to do any of that for bird feeders etc then it's worth checking the options now. If it's just for your own curiosity though a basic camera will do the job. Post pics if you see anything good. We'd rather the see the pooper than the poop :)

    By basic camera do you mean any old camera? I have my good old Sony camera, but I'm not sure how I'll hide that out of view in the house, and get a good angle at the same time.

    There are many hundreds of pics of poop on the forum. I'm not sure this is much help, but it might be a start. My fox poo looks nothing like the one pictured.

    Sorry I meant basic trail camera. You really need the motion sensor and night vision LEDs to make it any good at catching wildlife doing their stuff. Have a look at the thread below.

    Hmm... I think I may just get a picture of the poop. Cannot believe I've looked at dog and fox poo on google...

    They do here - and it can be huge.... :/
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Nope, I've got plenty of poop to look at on my own lawn. However, contributors here are very helpful here and happy to comment on just about anything - including poop of all shapes and sizes.

    It's certainly easier than setting up a camera etc. I would try posting a pic in the first instance, then resort to a camera if you don't get a satisfactory answer. By the way, don't forget to include something in the picture for scale, e.g. a coin or a ruler etc.
