Have my courgettes caught cabbage root maggots?

I have for the first time ever been attacked by cabbage root fly and lost half my cabbages. Now it would appear the same tell tale evil maggots are eating my courgette plants. Has any body ever heard of this? I have heard that there is a maggot That attacks peas beans and. Courgettes but what's the chance I get them both first time this year? Very worried and confused.

I cant get pictures to upload to the site on my phone. But they are a quarter of a cm long absolutely tiny and look just like root fly maggots. I know courgettes do not like there roots disturbed but have washed all the soil off them and re-potted will water tomorrow big with root fly nematodes that I have I the fridge for my carrots and cabbages. I may loose them all but I may save some. Just wondered if anyone else had ever had this or new of it? Is it a bad year for flys ? my garden is full of them.

Hi pansyface💐 Thanks🐞 This is a bit yellow mine are very white. But looking into them there are thousands of species and the courgettes plants and cabbage bed has been manured with diy store manure. Apparently fungus gnats do like manure and damp soil. Makes me wonder if i had cabbage fly at all. Oh well they are a type of sciarid fly and the nematodes are supposed to treat sciarid fly so cross fingers.🌷 Just glad I got the fruit and veg nematodes in just in on a just in case for prevention.🌱
